Fasadgruppen continues to strengthen its offering in the Mälardalen area through the acquisition of Husby Takplåtslageri & Ventilation AB (”Husby”).
Husby was founded in 1992 by its current CEO Mikael Johansson and is active in the entire Mälardalen area. The company performs all types of sheet metal work with a speciality in long strip and panel roofing as well as corrugated sheets of copper, steel plate and aluminium for both roofs and façades. Among previous projects are Tunafors Fabriker in Eskilstuna, the old hospital in Västerås and Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. Husby has 38 full-time employees, and for the financial year 2020, its revenues amounted to SEK 58 million.
Peter Polland, Business Area Manager Fasadgruppen East, said: “We are well acquainted with Husby from previous projects and have seen their solid work skills. Among other assignments, we worked together on the extensive exterior renovation of Grand Hôtel in 2018. It feels great to now be able to welcome Husby to Fasadgruppen and continue developing our cooperation."
Mikael Johansson, CEO of Husby, said: “I have run Husby since the start in 1992 and it is very exciting to now take the next step for the business. Our entire team has good experience from previous projects with Fasadgruppen and we look forward to continue building our position together with the other companies.”
Fasadgruppen is using available credit facilities and existing cash to finance the acquisition of all shares in Husby. The seller has undertaken to re-invest part of the purchase price by acquiring existing shares in Fasadgruppen within the next three months for an amount corresponding to SEK 20 million. The shares bought under the re-investment are subject to a lock-up commitment until 7 July 2022. The completion of the acquisition is not subject to any conditions, and Husby will therefore immediately become part of Fasadgruppen.
