APR Technologies enters space agreement with Airbus UpNext SAS
APR Technologies AB has entered into an agreement with Airbus UpNext SAS for the testing of a thermal switch based on Rheion® electrohydrodynamic technology aboard the SpaceRAN demonstrator. The tests will be conducted in orbit and the results will form the basis for future applications such as controlled and driven thermal links as well as processor cooling.
"This agreement is an important milestone for APR. Collaborating with Airbus UpNext SAS strengthens our position in the space and defence segment and demonstrates that there is genuine confidence in our technology," says Lars Almhem, CEO of APR Technologies AB.
Delivery of the thermal switch to Airbus UpNext SAS is planned for late 2026 or early 2027. The tests, scheduled for 2028, will evaluate performance in the space environment and integration in relevant applications. The goal is to establish a documented flight heritage of one year in orbit.
The company wishes to emphasize that the agreement covers the testing and validation of a specific product and does not imply any guaranteed future orders.
