ArcticZymes Technologies Delivers 19% Sales Growth (29% CER) and NOK 7.4 Million EBITDA in Q2 2026

The defining feature of the half year is the conversion of growth into earnings. Sales rose 27% while operating expenses increased 12%, so the great majority of incremental revenue fell through to EBITDA. With both segments now contributing close to half of sales each, the Company enters the second half with a more balanced revenue base, a demonstrated cost discipline and the financial capacity to fund its own growth. 

Q2 2026 Highlights 

• Sales revenue: NOK 31.9 million (Q2 2025: NOK 26.8 million), +19% year-on-year; NOK 34.6 million at constant exchange rates, +29% 

• Total revenue: NOK 33.9 million (Q2 2025: NOK 28.9 million), +17% year-on-year 

• EBITDA: NOK 7.4 million (Q2 2025: NOK 3.9 million), +90% year-on-year 

• EBITDA margin: 23% of sales revenue (Q2 2025: 15%) 

• Net profit: NOK 5.3 million (Q2 2025: NOK 3.3 million) 

Year-on-year growth in the quarter was led by Molecular Tools, which more than offset a Biomanufacturing comparison against an exceptionally strong Q2 2025. Biomanufacturing delivered sequential growth, up 6% on the first quarter.

• Operating expenses: +12%, against sales growth of 27% 

Business Segment Performance 

Biomanufacturing - NOK 15.9 million in Q2, NOK 31.2 million in the first half 

Biomanufacturing revenue of NOK 15.9 million was 12% below the second quarter of 2025 and represented 50% of sales. The comparison is against a record quarter for the M-SAN HQ product family rather than a change in the segment's trajectory: Biomanufacturing grew 6% sequentially against the first quarter, and first-half revenue of NOK 31.0 million was broadly in line with the same period last year. 

Adoption among global CDMOs continued through the quarter, with customers progressing into later-stage programs where the SAN portfolio carries higher volumes and greater revenue visibility. As is common in this market, the timing of individual orders varies with customers' own development schedules, and a number of projects moved out of the period. The Company views this as phasing rather than a general change in demand: the SAN range addresses several of the central economics of viral vector manufacturing, namely cost, yield and purity, and those requirements become more important, not less, as programs scale. Deepening GMP-grade penetration across the CDMO base remains the segment's principal growth driver. 

Molecular Tools - NOK 16.0 million in Q2, NOK 32.5 million in the first half 

Molecular Tools revenue of NOK 16.0 million was 84% above the second quarter of 2025 and also represented 50% of sales. First-half revenue of NOK 32.5 million was 77% ahead of last year, confirming the recovery reported at the start of the year rather than a single-quarter effect. 

The return of a key OEM account anchored the result, supported by healthy contributions from a broad section of direct customers across diagnostic applications. Recurring OEM relationships continue to provide order visibility for the remainder of the year, and the breadth of the underlying customer base means the segment is not dependent on any single account for its growth. 

Financial Position 

ArcticZymes ended the quarter with NOK 269.0 million in cash and short-term investments and no interest-bearing debt. With the first half generating EBITDA of NOK 9.0 million, growth is funded from the Company's own operations. That position allows ArcticZymes to invest in its portfolio and commercial footprint on its own timetable, and to evaluate strategic opportunities from a position of strength rather than necessity.

"The first half of 2026 has delivered strong growth, with sales up 27%, or 39% at constant currency, and EBITDA of NOK 9.0 million against break-even a year ago," said Michael Akoh, CEO of ArcticZymes Technologies ASA. "The important point is not the growth rate on its own, but that our operating leverage now converts that growth directly into earnings: we grew sales by 27% while adding 12% to costs."

"Both segments are contributing, and our order visibility is better than it was twelve months ago. In Biomanufacturing we see customers moving programmes at their own pace, which affects quarterly phasing, but nothing has changed in what the SAN range does for viral vector manufacturing or in the general long term direction of that market. We enter the second half with good commercial momentum, a strong balance sheet and a clear plan for the RNA opportunity ahead of us."

Outlook 

ArcticZymes remains focused on delivering sustainable double-digit growth, and the priorities for the second half are unchanged from those set out at the Capital Markets Day in March: 

• Continued scaling of Biomanufacturing, with increased GMP-grade penetration among CDMO customers 

• Expansion of the partner-led channel strategy, with a dedicated focus on the APAC region 

• Broader enzyme application development, including metagenomics within the NGS franchise 

• Further build-out of the RNA enzyme portfolio for in vitro transcription workflows, with first solutions expected at the latest at the start of next year 
• Following the end of the quarter, a US-based liquid biopsy customer received FDA PMA approval for its cancer screening test. An ArcticZymes proteinase is used in the customer's workflow, and the programme has the potential to become a meaningful growth driver in the years ahead as the test is commercialised, although the timing and pace of any volume ramp rests with the customer. The customer is developing further cancer screening tests in which the same proteinase can be applied.

The Company is mindful of the broader geopolitical and macroeconomic environment, including evolving trade policy, tariff developments and currency volatility. A weaker US dollar and euro against the Norwegian krone reduced reported sales by NOK 2.7 million in the second quarter; at constant exchange rates, growth would have been 29% in the quarter and 39% in the first half. 

With a strengthened commercial platform, an expanding application footprint, demonstrated operating leverage and a debt-free balance sheet, the Company is well positioned for continued growth in 2026 and beyond.
