Attendo opens new nursing home in Turku, Finland
Attendo's new nursing home, Attendo Pläkkäri, in Turku has now been completed. The home has 25 apartments and provides round-the-clock care in a safe and homely environment. The new nursing home is designed with a focus on community, accessibility and person-centered care tailored to each resident's individual needs.
The new one-floor nursing home is divided into two smaller residential units, with 13 and 12 apartments respectively. The apartments range from 20 to 23 square metres and each has its own accessible bathroom. Residents can furnish their apartments with their own furniture and personal belongings to create a homely environment that reflects their individual preferences and needs.
”Good facilities provide the foundation for a good everyday life, but it is the people who make a home. At Attendo Pläkkäri, each resident's wishes and needs shape everyday life. We look forward to welcoming them to their new home and creating an everyday life filled with a sense of community and meaningful activities together,” says Vilma Väätäinen, Regional Director Southwest Finland at Attendo Finland.
The nursing home is designed to support both community and independence. Between the two residential units are shared living and dining areas as well as a homely kitchen. Activities are organized daily and planned together with the residents. Outdoors, a large terrace, a covered seating area and a courtyard provide opportunities for social interaction and spending time outside.
