ContextVision signs partnership agreement for the clinical translation of its quantitative imaging portfolio
ContextVision AB has signed a Master Research Agreement with Linköping University, Region Östergötland, and the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV). The agreement will support the clinical validation of ContextVision’s computer aided detection and quantitative ultrasound solutions.
As part of the collaboration, ContextVision will provide on-site technical personnel and install its ultrasound research platform at CMIV, complementing the center’s existing MR, CT, and medical imaging diagnostics AI infrastructure. The collaboration in Linköping provides a broader platform for ContextVision’s programs in quantitative imaging solutions. Prospective clinical studies will be conducted to evaluate the translation of software-based diagnostic algorithms into clinical practice, such as the ongoing development program in Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD).
“Developing the technology is one part of the process. We also need strong clinical evidence that shows how our solutions perform in practice. The partnership brings together our technology with the research expertise, clinical experience and imaging infrastructure of Linköping University, Region Östergötland and CMIV. It gives ContextVision a strong foundation for the pursued entry into quantitative imaging,” says Gerald Pötzsch, CEO of ContextVision.
“Our mission at CMIV is to advance imaging research and bring it to clinical practice. The ultrasound research platform from ContextVision complements our MR and CT programs, as well as allow us to broaden the research topics we can address. We look forward to working with ContextVision and exploring how quantitative ultrasound imaging can contribute to future clinical translation of AI-enabled medical imaging diagnostic solutions,” says Anders Persson, MD, PhD, Director of CMIV and Professor at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences, Linköping University.

About CMIV
CMIV is a multidisciplinary research center initiated in 2002 by Linköping University, the regional healthcare provider Region Östergötland and the enterprise medical imaging company Sectra AB. Its mission is to develop next-generation methods and tools for medical image analysis, interactive 3D visualization, digital twins, and AI diagnostics, to improve healthcare and medical research. CMIV is also host to the Analytic Imaging Diagnostic Arena (AIDA) which is a publicly funded collaboration arena for research and innovation in medical imaging diagnostics AI, engaging ~50 Swedish partners from academia, industry, and healthcare in about equal parts. It is also host to the AIDA Data Hub, which is a data infrastructure supporting AIDA with services in policy support, data sharing, and secure GPU processing of sensitive personal data for developing medical imaging diagnostics AI.
