CTEK AB: CTEK officially launches Eichrecht-compliant CC3e at Automechanika Frankfurt

2026-09-09 09:00:00

New addition to the CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 family provides a fit-for-purpose charging solution for Germany's regulated public charging market

Frankfurt, Germany, 9 September 2026: CTEK today officially launched CHARGESTORM® CONNECTED 3e (CC3e), its new Eichrecht-compliant AC, EV charger developed specifically for public charging infrastructure in Germany, at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026.

Built on CTEK's proven CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 platform, CC3e combines dual-outlet charging with certified energy measurement, transparent billing information and a user-friendly touchscreen.

The launch reflects CTEK's continued focus on expanding its charging portfolio with products developed for specific markets and applications. The CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 family allows customers to select a fit-for-purpose solution based on where and how charging will be used.

Developed for Germany

CC3e complies with German Eichrecht requirements for legal metering and billing in public EV charging. Its seven-inch touchscreen displays real-time charging status, energy consumption and pricing, giving drivers clear visibility throughout their charging session.

Dynamic QR codes generated directly on the charger support secure ad hoc payments while reducing the risks associated with static QR-code stickers, including tampering and fraudulent redirects.

Two Type 2 outlets each provide up to 22 kW AC charging, allowing two vehicles to charge simultaneously. CC3e also supports RFID, OCPP and AutoCharge authentication and is hardware-ready for future Plug & Charge and Vehicle-to-Grid capabilities.

Already gaining traction in Germany

Ahead of its official launch, CC3e has already been successfully installed at public and commercial locations in Germany.

CTEK is working with European parking operators including APCOA to expand reliable and accessible charging at locations where people work, shop, visit and stay. CC3e chargers are already operating or being installed at APCOA Germany sites in Stuttgart, Berlin and Augsburg. And indeed, following Automechanika, APCOA will also begin installing 11 CC3e chargers in the parking garage at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre.

Designed to scale

CC3e integrates with CTEK's NANOGRID™ dynamic load-balancing system, which intelligently distributes available power across a site. The system can support up to 1,000 charging points, making CC3e suitable for projects ranging from individual public sites to larger charging networks.

Power and network daisy-chaining help simplify installation, while a local web interface allows installers to configure charger settings and backend connectivity.

Henk Lubberts, President, Professional Division at CTEK, said: "Charging requirements vary between markets, locations and users. Expanding the CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 family allows us to provide products that are genuinely fit for purpose while building on one proven and reliable platform.

"CC3e has been developed specifically for Germany, combining Eichrecht-compliant metering with transparent user information, secure payments and the scalability operators need. The successful deployments already under way with APCOA, together with the forthcoming installation at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, demonstrate the confidence customers are placing in CC3e."

CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3e is available with dual 22 kW AC outlets and wall, pole or roof-mounting options.
