Detection Technology launches a share repurchase program
The Board of Directors of Detection Technology Plc has decided to launch a share repurchase program. Under the program, Detection Technology may repurchase a maximum of 300,000 of its own shares for an aggregate amount of up to EUR 2 million. This corresponds to approximately 2 percent of the total number of Detection Technology’s outstanding shares.
“The decision to launch a share repurchase program reflects our confidence in our company’s long-term growth prospects. Our strong financial position allows us to continue making strategic growth investments while also returning capital to our shareholders. Repurchasing and cancelling shares provides us with a flexible way to use capital efficiently and create shareholder value. Our dividend policy remains unchanged, and we continue to aim for steady returns for our shareholders,” says President and CEO Hannu Martola.
The share repurchase program will commence no earlier than 9 November 2026 and end no later than 28 February 2027, or earlier if the maximum number of shares or the maximum aggregate amount set for the program is reached. The Board of Directors of Detection Technology may suspend or terminate the program before the planned end date. In such a case, Detection Technology will publish a company announcement.
The shares will be repurchased in public trading on Nasdaq Helsinki at the market price prevailing at the time of the repurchase. The volume limit of the share repurchase program is based on the average daily trading volume during the month preceding the announcement of the program. In October 2026, the average daily trading volume was 64,116 shares, meaning that the daily maximum of 25 percent corresponds to 16,029 shares.
The decision to launch the share repurchase program is based on the authorization granted to the Board of Directors by the Annual General Meeting on 26 March 2026. The repurchases will be carried out in accordance with the so-called safe harbour provisions referred to in Article 5 of the EU Market Abuse Regulation ((EU) No 596/2014).
The repurchases will be financed using funds from the company’s unrestricted shareholders’ equity. The repurchased shares will be cancelled. At the time of publication of this release, neither Detection Technology nor any of its group companies holds any Detection Technology shares. The total number of shares issued by Detection Technology is 14,655,630.
Detection Technology has appointed an external broker to execute the share repurchase program. The broker will make trading decisions independently, in accordance with the terms of the share repurchase program and applicable regulations. Detection Technology will report on the share repurchases through weekly company announcements.
