Devyser signs first commercial reagent rental agreement under Illumina collaboration in Italy
Devyser, a global leader in advanced molecular diagnostics, today announced the first commercial agreement under its Systems Integrator collaboration with Illumina. The agreement, signed with an Italian laboratory, marks an important step in expanding access to next-generation sequencing (NGS) by combining Illumina instrumentation with Devyser's assay portfolio.
The agreement includes the placement of an Illumina MiSeq™ i100 System under a reagent rental model. The customer will also utilize Devyser's Amplicon Suite software to support data analysis and reporting.
"Laboratories are increasingly looking for easy-to-implement NGS solutions," says Jan Wahlström, CEO of Devyser. "This agreement represents an important win for Devyser as the first commercial implementation under our reagent rental collaboration with Illumina. By combining Illumina's sequencing technology with Devyser's comprehensive assay portfolio and intuitive software, we can make advanced genetic analysis more accessible for laboratories looking to adopt or expand NGS without significant upfront capital investment."
The Italian laboratory will implement a range of Devyser's assays through the reagent rental offering, demonstrating the breadth of the company's portfolio. By replacing upfront capital investment with a predictable reagent purchasing commitment, the model lowers the barrier for laboratories to adopt advanced molecular analysis and modernize their workflows.
Italy continues to be one of Devyser's most important strategic markets, and this reagent rental agreement further strengthens the company's commercial presence while demonstrating the value of its collaboration with Illumina. The multi-year reagent commitment also underpins recurring, higher-visibility revenue for Devyser, and the agreement is expected to serve as a reference for additional reagent rental opportunities across Europe.
