Goobit strengthens anti-money laundering work and prepares response to Finansinspektionen's statement
Goobit Group AB (publ) announces that its subsidiary Goobit AB has significantly strengthened and streamlined its independent control functions following the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority's (the Authority) decision to reject the company's application for authorization under MiCA.
The organization has now been strengthened with three separate full-time functions:
- Chief Compliance Officer
- MLRO
- Risk Manager
The investment significantly strengthens the company's independent control functions and reflects Goobit's continued investments in governance, compliance and risk management.
Goobit is now working to complete its response to the Authority to clarify and address the issues identified by the Authority and which formed the basis for the decision. The company appreciates the dialogue that has taken place during the process and sees the Authority's views as a valuable basis for continued work.
As part of this effort, the company will provide additional explanations and documentation regarding the issues identified by the Authority. Goobit will also report on the organizational reinforcements and other measures that have been implemented.
– "We take the Authority's views very seriously. Against this background, we have implemented a comprehensive strengthening of our organization and our lines of defense in the work against money laundering and terrorist financing. This includes, among other things, a significant increase in full-time resources within the functions for AML, Compliance and Risk, with the aim of further strengthening governance, control and regulatory compliance," says Christian Ander, CEO of Goobit Group AB.
Goobit will keep the market informed when there is significant progress in the process.
