M Vest Water successfully completes paid long-term trial at METHA
M Vest Water (MVW) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its paid long-term trial at METHA, one of the largest dredging plants in Europe, located in Hamburg, Germany.
The next phase will be commercial negotiations with METHA with the goal of securing a long-term supply contract for NORWAFLOC®.
Reference is made to the earlier announcements on August 13, 2025, and October 17, 2025.
The test results from the paid long-term trial demonstrate that MVW’s natural product, NORWAFLOC®, delivers improvements in both treatment results and operational performance compared to the plant’s existing products.
The long-term trial began in Q4 2025 and was temporarily paused by the operator due to the need for substantial refurbishment of the plant’s existing dewatering equipment. The trial resumed in June 2026 and was successfully completed at the end of July 2026.
"Completing a paid long-term trial under real operating conditions at a flagship plant of METHA’s scale is a strong validation of NORWAFLOC®'s performance and reliability. The fact that our results not only performed consistently, but improved upon the incumbent products, gives us great confidence" says Tor Olav Gabrielsen, Executive Chairman at MVW.
About METHA:
METHA is a flagship in the dredging industry, recognized for both its size and its leading role in sustainable dredging management. The dewatering plant dewaters all dredging sludge from the continuous operations required to keep the port open for the approximately 12,000 ships that arrive in Hamburg each year. On average, METHA dewaters 300,000 tons of sludge annually, with the capacity to treat 1,000,000 tons. As part of Hamburg Port Authority, METHA is often referred to as "The washing machine of the Port of Hamburg."
