PILA PHARMA: TO PARTICIPATE AT BIO EUROPE, A PHARMA PARTNERING CONFERENCE IN COLOGNE, NOVEMBER 9-11, TO EXPAND PARTNERSHIP DIALOGUE AS CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRESSES
02 November 2026, Malmö, Sweden: PILA PHARMA AB (publ)(FN STO: PILA)(FRA: 5KC), a clinical stage biotech company pioneering development of an oral TRPV1 antagonist as a potential first-in-class treatment for obesity and diabetes, today announces its participation at pharma partnering conference Bio Europe in Cologne, November 09-11, to advance discussions with contacts in the pharmaceutical industry around partnerships for the Company’s lead candidate, the oral TRPV1 antagonist XEN-D0501, currently being investigated in the clinical trial PP-CT04, in people living with obesity.
PP-CT04 is a two-part, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, 12‑week trial investigating the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and efficacy of XEN-D0501 in obese participants. The trial is designed to explore a within-subject dose titration approach to reach anticipated therapeutic plasma concentrations of XEN-D0501 not previously investigated.
During the conference, PILA PHARMA represented by CEO Gustav H. Gram, will engage in meetings with existing and new contacts from other pharmaceutical companies, to discuss PILA PHARMA’s proprietary, oral, small molecule TRPV1 antagonist for treatment of obesity and related cardiometabolic diseases.
CEO Gustav H. Gram comments:
“With the start of the PP-CT04 trial, we’ve taken important steps lately in building further valuable information and expanding the data package of our lead candidate, the oral TRPV1 antagonist XEN-D0501. These advances bring our programme closer to the clinical milestones and data that partners look for. With its highly differentiated mechanism of action for treatment of obesity and other cardiometabolic diseases, it ultimately puts us in a stronger position as we engage with new potential pharmaceutical partner contacts in addition to our existing connections, where I look forward to continue the already positive dialogue we have with many companies.”
Meetings are also planned for discussions around the use of the oral TRPV1 antagonist for treatment of pain, hereof the rare disease erythromelalgia for which the company holds US FDA Orphan Drug Designation (ODD). With the drug candidate’s established oral delivery, the Company believes it potentially has a key advantage in delivering systemic pain relief effects.
