Tokmanni Group Oyj: Sampo Päällysaho assumes the role of CEO of Tokmanni Group

Sampo Päällysaho assumes the role of CEO of Tokmanni Group today, on 6 July 2026. He succeeds Mika Rautiainen, who retired from the position, as announced by the company on 4 July 2025.
Sampo Päällysaho brings extensive and versatile experience from leadership roles in retail and consumer businesses. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in business and concept development, category management, sourcing, growth acceleration and enhancing the customer experience. His expertise covers, among other areas, assortment development, operational efficiency and the advancement of omnichannel business operations. Päällysaho also has extensive experience of working in an international business environment.
"Tokmanni Group has built a strong position in Nordic retail by offering customers affordable prices, a wide product assortment and a good shopping experience. My goal is to continue delivering profitable growth by opening new stores, developing our assortment, and further strengthening the execution of identified synergies and our customer-centric way of operating," says Sampo Päällysaho.
According to Päällysaho, during the first weeks as CEO he will focus on meeting people, listening and learning across the Group's operating countries, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

As Päällysaho assumes the role of CEO, Tokmanni Group is launching a strategy process aimed at evaluating and updating the Group's strategic and financial targets for the next strategy period. At the same time, the aim is to further strengthen the utilisation of synergies and ensure that the Group's capabilities and competitiveness support sustainable and profitable growth. The previous strategy period ended at the end of 2025.
