Truecaller AB: Truecaller Partners with LinkedIn to Bring Trusted Professional Context to Caller ID

Working life increasingly runs through calls between people who have yet to meet. A recruiter, a supplier, a client adviser, or a founder calls from a number the recipient is seeing for the first time, and the decision to answer rests on whatever context the phone can show in those few seconds.

Truecaller is used by more than 500 million people worldwide, and its Caller ID is where identity matters most. Adding LinkedIn's professional context and verification to that moment gives professionals a way to be recognised for who they are. It gives the person on the other end a clearer basis for picking up.

"A phone number by itself tells you almost nothing. Truecaller's role has always been to add the context people need to decide whether to answer. Our partnership with LinkedIn lets people add richer professional context to Truecaller Caller ID, building on the trust and verification signals LinkedIn has established around professional identity," says Kunal Dua, Chief Product Officer at Truecaller. "That gives the person receiving a call a more trustworthy picture of who is reaching out, while helping the caller be recognised for more than just their number. LinkedIn is the natural partner for this, and I'm excited about what it could unlock for everyday professional communication."

New users can use Login with LinkedIn to get started with Truecaller more quickly, with details such as their name and profile picture pre-filled from LinkedIn. New and existing users can also use Verified on LinkedIn to add their workplace and job title to their Truecaller profile. Once connected, people receiving their calls will see their job title and company alongside their name and picture on Truecaller Caller ID. When viewing the caller's Truecaller profile, they can also tap through to LinkedIn to learn more about their professional background.

Verification from LinkedIn adds another layer of context. If the caller has verified information on their LinkedIn profile, those verifications will be reflected alongside their name on Truecaller. Where LinkedIn has verified the caller's workplace, Truecaller will show a corresponding indicator with their company information. This gives the recipient a stronger basis for understanding who is calling, while complementing Truecaller's own user verification processes.

Connecting a LinkedIn profile and displaying professional information on Truecaller are entirely optional. Users decide whether to show their workplace and job title, and can disconnect their LinkedIn profile at any time.

Verified on LinkedIn lets LinkedIn members carry their professional verification to platforms beyond LinkedIn without a separate verification process. Through this partnership, that verification adds context and credibility when a professional call comes in.

The integration is available now to Truecaller users on Android worldwide, with iPhone to follow.
