Wirtek Strengthens Profitability in Second Quarter of 2026

2026-08-12 19:15:00

Wirtek yesterday published its second-quarter results, showing strong progress in operating earnings as measured by EBITDA.

In the second quarter, Wirtek achieved revenue of DKK 15.1 million, corresponding to a slight decline of 2 percent compared with the same period last year. However, EBITDA grew by more than 300 percent to DKK 1.3 million, up from DKK 0.3 million in the same period last year, corresponding to a margin of 8.3 percent. This also represented an increase compared with the first quarter, when EBITDA amounted to DKK 0.6 million. For the first half of the year, revenue totalled DKK 30.6 million with EBITDA of DKK 1.9 million.

The improvement in operating results was driven in part by lower personnel costs, which amounted to DKK 16.2 million in the first half of the year, down from DKK 17.7 million in the first half of 2025. This corresponded to a decline of 8.5 percent and reflects the structural changes implemented during 2025.

For the full year, Wirtek maintains its guidance of revenue of DKK 65–70 million and EBITDA of DKK 3–6 million. According to the company, the first-half results are in line with the trajectory required to meet these expectations, and the second half of the year has historically been the strongest period.

On the day of the results announcement, Wirtek also announced that it has signed a purchase agreement and completed the acquisition of all shares in DitaExchange ApS, a Danish SaaS company headquartered in Aarhus. In 2025, DitaExchange grew its recurring revenue by 22 percent to approximately DKK 2.9 million, with 0 percent customer churn. The acquisition will have a limited effect on 2026 results, as the transaction takes economic effect from 1 August.

CEO Michael Aaen commented on the results:

Wirtek delivered a strong second quarter. EBITDA rose to DKK 1,261 thousand from DKK 270 thousand a year earlier, and the EBITDA margin reached 8.3 percent, up from 1.7 percent — more than double the 3.9 percent we achieved in the first quarter. Profit before tax was positive, both for the quarter and for the first half of the year, while revenue was largely stable at DKK 15,134 thousand. This is the second full quarter reflecting our Strategy for Scalable and Sustainable Growth, which we launched in November 2025, and the margin improvement we began in the first quarter has been sustained and further strengthened.
