Veidekke: Signs New Contract for NTNU Campus Development Project
2026-10-14 15:27:03
Veidekke has signed the execution agreement with Statsbygg for the construction
of the project "Resonans" (P4 Music) as part of the NTNU Campus Development
project in Trondheim. The contract is valued at approximately NOK 520 million,
excluding VAT.
The project is being delivered through an IPL contract (Integrated Project
Delivery) between the client Statsbygg, Veidekke and Norconsult. With the
signing of the agreement, the project now moves from the development phase into
the execution phase.
"We are very pleased to sign this agreement with Statsbygg. It has been an
excellent process involving all parties leading up to this milestone, and I am
proud to enter into our second contract related to the NTNU Campus Development
project. Together with Statsbygg and Norconsult, we have worked purposefully to
develop a project that creates the greatest possible value for both NTNU and the
society," says Torgeir Loholt Wiig, Regional Director Bygg Trondheim at
Veidekke.
Modern Educational Facility
The execution agreement marks the transition from the collaborative development
phase to construction. During the initial collaboration phase, the parties have
worked on optimization, cost management and the design of solutions for the
building.
"We are looking forward to starting work on site. This is an exciting and
important project in Trondheim, and we are proud to be part of bringing it to
life," says Hans Olav Sørlie, Executive Vice President, Building Construction
Norway at Veidekke.
Campus P4 Music will become a new and modern educational facility for NTNU's
Department of Musicology. The building will include classrooms, rehearsal rooms,
recording studios, performance halls and workplaces. It has been developed with
stringent requirements for acoustics, functionality and quality to meet the
needs of both students and staff.
The project comprises 8,956 square metres of gross floor area and will consist
of five floors, including a basement level. The building will feature an in-situ
cast concrete structural system and complex, extensive acoustic and sound
insulation solutions. "Resonans" has been designed by Norconsult/Nordic Office
of Architecture and will feature a distinctive brick façade.
An Important Milestone
The building will be located on Høyskoleveien between Studentersamfundet and
NTNU's Main Building, making it a central element of the NTNU Campus Development
project.
"The signing marks another important milestone for the NTNU Campus Development
project. We are now moving from planning to execution and taking a major step
closer to a new building that will bring NTNU's music communities together in
one location. This will provide NTNU with an outstanding music facility that
creates an excellent environment for world-class music education for many years
to come," says Johan Arnt Vatnan, Project Director for NTNU Campus Development
at Statsbygg.
Through the IPL contract, Statsbygg, Veidekke and Norconsult have established a
single integrated project organization in which the client, contractor and
consultant share responsibility for developing and delivering the project.
Construction is scheduled to commence in October 2026, with completion planned
for July 2029. The contract will be included in Veidekke's order backlog for the
third quarter of 2026.
