The med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ) continues to establish PolarCap® in Swedish Ice Hockey. The company has signed a three-year commercial agreement with the third-tier HockeyEttan club, Kalmar HC.

PolarCool develops the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussion. The company's primary customers are sports clubs, teams, and organizations which experience an increased risk of concussion, such as ice hockey, rugby, football and handball.

The company has built a strong position within Swedish ice hockey and since 2019 has held a league-wide agreement with the Swedish Hockey League, SHL, which ensures that a PolarCap® system is available at every league game. PolarCool has also recently entered into several strategic agreements with other major European clubs and aims to broaden its market presence throughout European ice hockey.

At the same time, PolarCool has increased its presence in the lower divisions of Swedish ice hockey. Th agreement with Kalmar HC is another example of this, even if the order itself is limited in size. The company now has several agreements in HockeyEttan where a total of 40 clubs play in 4 different divisions. PolarCool is currently in discussions with a number of clubs across the 4 divisions to continue the establishment.

Kalmar HC's chairman, Camilla Freedeke comments;

- As an employer in ice hockey, we have a great responsibility to give our players the best possible conditions to alleviate the effects of concussions and protect players from long-term sick leave. It therefore, feels very good that we in Kalmar HC will be able to provide treatment with PolarCap® to all our elite teams; women's, men's, J20 and J18. I would much like to see a wider collaboration together with other clubs in HockeyEttan around PolarCap®.

PolarCool's CEO, Erik Andersson comments;

- I am pleased that Kalmar HC chooses to include PolarCap® in its routines for treating concussions. Offering our product and protecting players at all levels in sports is part of PolarCool's long-term strategy. We now look forward to continuing to establish PolarCap® in ice hockey, both in Sweden and Europe.
