2022-02-10 07:30:00
Höegh Autoliners delivered strong fourth quarter results with an EBITDA of USD
79 million and a net profit of USD 140 million.

Andreas Enger CEO comments, "In a market with changing dynamics and re-pricing,
our strong operating performance and vessel positioning has resulted in strong
quarterly results."

Although Höegh Autoliners experienced challenges in the fourth quarter, such as
semi-conductor shortages and supply chain disruptions, a flexible operating
model, vessel positioning and ability to secure high margin cargoes resulted in
a significant commercial recovery.

"The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause disruptions and uncertainty globally.
Despite the challenges, I am impressed with the hard work and dedication our
people keep demonstrating, and which is reflected in our business," says Andreas
Enger.

The company continues its focus and has made considerable progress in its
commitment to being carbon neutral by 2040.

"As part of strengthening our service offering, accelerating our path to zero
and putting us in the forefront of sustainable shipping, we laid the groundwork
for entering into a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry for our Aurora
class newbuilding program. On 29 November, we successfully listed on Euronext
Growth Oslo which represents a strong vote of confidence in our long-term
commitment and robust business model," adds Andreas Enger.

Highlights

o Successful listing on Euronext Growth and USD 131 million raised in new
equity.
o Newbuilding program launched for the largest and most environmentally friendly
car carriers ever built.
o General market continues to be strong leading to improved trade balances,
utilisation and margins.
o Fleet optimalisation through sale of Höegh Masan and exercise of purchase
option for Höegh Beijing.
o Adjusted EBITDA for Q4 of USD 79 million, up 65% Y-o-Y and 55% Q-o-Q.
o The strong Q4 results and reversal of impairments gave a net profit of USD 140
million in Q4.

Outlook

The outbreak of Omicron this winter has led to more delays in ports and port
operation due to lack of labour. In addition, some challenges related to bug
treatment of cargo to Oceania has caused more operational inefficiencies and
delays than in the previous quarter. The semiconductor shortage and supply chain
disruptions are continuing to create volatility and some imbalances but also
creates opportunities as cargo support in certain markets are very strong.
Bunker prices have increased continuously through January and will impact the
result as the compensation (BAF) is delayed with 3-4 months. Seasonally Q1 is
traditionally somewhat weaker than Q4 caused by lower activity due to seasonal
holidays.
However, the fundamental market conditions we experienced in Q4 2021 has
continued into 2022. The tight supply/demand balance and higher net freight rate
will give a positive effect also in Q1 2022.

Please find attached Q4 2021 report. The results will also be presented by CEO
Andreas Enger and CFO Per Øivind Rosmo at 08:30 CET today. The presentation will
be held in English, and a recorded version of the webcast together with the
presentation will be made available on our website soon after the webcast ends.
