SpareBank 1 Østlandet raises its lending and deposit rates by up to 0.5
percentage points. The rate increases are due to Norges Bank's policy rate hike.
"Norges Bank recently raised its key policy rate by 0.5 percentage points due
to high inflation and capacity pressures in the Norwegian economy."
"Based on the central bank's recent policy rate hike, we are raising our
interest rates for loans and deposits by up to 0.5 percentage points," says Kari
Elise Gisnås, Executive Vice President Retail Market in SpareBank 1 Østlandet.
Norges Bank has signalled further interest rate hikes this year and next year in
order to cool down the economy and to stabilise inflation.
"People need to prepare for higher debt servicing costs. Contact the bank if you
face financial difficulties due to higher interest rates," says Gisnås.
o Lending rates for new housing mortgages will change from 30 June.
o Rates for existing housing mortgages and for deposits will change from 11
August.
o Customers will be notified of the interest rate changes directly.
