4 August 2023 - Refuels N.V., one of Europe's leading suppliers of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) for decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles, today published Bio-CNG station data for July 2023.

* A total volume of 3,799 tonnes of Bio-CNG was dispensed from 12 public access refuelling stations in operation during July 2023. This is a 78.8% increase from 2,125 tonnes dispensed in July 2022 (8 stations)
* The average daily dispensed volume was a record 122.5 tonnes, compared to 122.1 and 116 tonnes dispensed per day in June and May 2023 respectively. Relatively few new CNG trucks were delivered in July, while the summer holiday months are characterised by seasonally softer demand.
* For the three-month period ending July 2023, a monthly average of 1,396 vehicles refuelled at ReFuels’ Bio-CNG stations, compared to 857 vehicles for the three-month period ending July 2022
* During July, the Bio-CNG network had 12 operational public access stations. The Bio-CNG station at Corby in Northamptonshire commenced operation Mid-July 2023

"The record temperatures reported this summer confirm the urgent need to decarbonise. This includes transitioning the road transport sector, one of the major emitters, to renewable biomethane, a near-zero-emission fuel available at scale today. ReFuels is an enabler for this transition and we are very pleased to report almost 80% year-over-year growth in dispensed volumes across our refuelling stations as we add more customers, serve a rapidly expanding fleet of Bio-CNG trucks, and deliver on our strategy to grow our UK station network towards the target of 30-40 sites by end-2025,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO of ReFuels.

Through its CNG Fuels brand, ReFuels operates 12 public access Bio-CNG stations on major trucking routes in the UK. A station at Bangor in North Wales is currently under construction due for operations in the coming months. The company expects at least four further stations to commence construction during the company’s financial reporting year ending 31 March 2024.

The company provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten working days after the period ends.
