Nosa Plugs AB (“Nosa Plugs” or “the Company”) announced on 11 December 2025 that a new clinical study conducted by Karolinska Institutet in collaboration with Lund University and Skåne University Hospital has been published regarding the Company’s product Smell Training. The study shows that Smell Training significantly improves both perceived sense of smell and quality of life in individuals with olfactory loss (hyposmia). The positive study results indicate a strong likelihood that the product will qualify for reimbursement systems in several markets, and Nosa Plugs is expected to initiate application processes shortly in a select number of European countries.
In summary, the newly published one-year clinical study from Karolinska Institutet, Lund University and Skåne University Hospital reinforce the scientific support for Nosa Plugs’ Smell Training by demonstrating significantly improved olfactory function and quality of life compared with today’s standard treatments. Together with the positive findings from the 2024 study, this indicates that the product now has strong prospects of qualifying for reimbursement in several European markets, a process the Company intends to initiate shortly. Such approval would increase accessibility, drive higher usage and sales volumes, and serve as important proof of concept and reference in connection with expansion into new markets.
