Attendos strategy has always aimed at long-term sustainable operations. By joining SBTi, Attendo is further strengthening its ambitions and committing to setting scientifically based climate targets within the next 24 months. The targets will be divided into a short-term goal and a long-term goal. The purpose of adding climate targets to the company's other goals is to make it clear how the company is contributing to reduced carbon dioxide emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
For several years, the care company Attendo has measured, followed up and reported on several business-critical KPIs linked to social sustainability, such as customer satisfaction, relatives’ satisfaction, employee satisfaction and payor satisfaction. Attendo was also early to link its loan facilities to sustainability based on these KPIs within social sustainability, and has been reporting its climate footprint in the form of the company's carbon dioxide emissions for several years.
“Reducing carbon dioxide emissions is absolutely necessary, it is a prerequisite for long-term sustainable growth and profitability. Attendo now starting the process of adding climate targets is therefore a natural next step. Attendo is in a phase where we are growing and preparing ourselves in all areas to continue to meet the increased demand for high-quality care at all stages of life, and we are doing so responsibly", says Josefine Uppling, Communications and Sustainability Director, Attendo
Furthermore, initiatives are already ongoing to reduce the company's climate impact through its suppliers and through close collaboration with property owners. By setting targets, Attendo is strengthening its environmental work and taking the work of reducing its climate impact to the next level.
Attendos climate goals will be communicated as soon as they have been submitted and verified by SBTi.
