Avonova, the Nordic region’s leading provider of occupational health services, has entered into an agreement to acquire BHT Bergen. The acquisition forms part of Avonova’s strategy to be a strong, local, and proactive health partner for small and medium-sized enterprises across Norway.
Founded in 2010, BHT Bergen is a well-established, locally anchored player in Western Norway. The company delivers traditional occupational health and HSE services to the SME segment in the region and is led by its three owners, Steinar Forshei, Dörte Jensen, and Kirsten Rokstad. The business currently collaborates with nine experienced external professional consultants.
“BHT Bergen has built strong and trusted relationships with its customers over time. They share our view of occupational health as a profitable investment rather than a cost. Together, we will offer more comprehensive and accessible occupational health services that create tangible value for businesses in Western Norway,” says Øyvind Stokstad, CEO of Avonova.
Providing customers access to a broader service offering and documented impact
As part of Avonova, BHT Bergen’s customers will gain access to Avonova’s combined expertise, digital solutions, and the subscription service Avonova Assist. The management of BHT Bergen expects strong customer interest and a positive market reception.
“We are seeing increasing demand for simple, proactive, and holistic occupational health solutions. Through Avonova, our customers gain access to tools and services that make preventive health work easier and allow them to see the tangible impact of these efforts” says Dörte Jensen, Administrative Manager and Chair of the Board at BHT Bergen.
A shared objective: better health delivers better results
The acquisition supports Avonova’s purpose of creating sustainable workplaces and contributing to a healthier working life—for individuals, businesses, and society at large.
“When people thrive at work, companies perform better as well. This is what we mean when we say that better health delivers better results. Together with BHT Bergen, we are now taking another step to strengthen occupational health in Western Norway,” concludes Øyvind Stokstad.
