AVTECH Sweden AB (publ) have entered into a one-year agreement with Air Caraïbes and French bee for AVTECHs Aventus wind uplink service, with a start in January 2024 and expected total value in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 MSEK dependent on fleet and EUR exchange rate development.

The Aventus service, utilizing the latest high-resolution aviation weather forecasting from the UK Met Office, provides precise and tailored wind and temperature information in-flight to its users, including Air Caraïbes and French bee. This leads to improved flight efficiency, punctuality and reduced workload for the pilots.

Clément Cibot, Head of Flight Ops Engineering Department for Air Caraïbes Atlantique & French bee added, “We are delighted by this enhancement with the Aventus system, that will enable us to use the most up-to-date weather data loaded into our onboard Flight Management Systems. It is a major step forward for our long haul operations. The best trajectories will be computed with the very latest weather data available which means optimized flight safety and fuel consumption. We are very enthusiastic about this new technology that Aventus is offering us and are very confident on the positive impact it will have on our operations”.

“We are delighted to welcome Air Caraïbes Atlantique and French bee onboard as new AVTECH customers after their successful evaluation period. We are proud to have been selected as their trusted supplier of in-flight tailored weather information and we now look forward towards a long-term cooperation leading to improved efficiency, safety and punctuality for each flight.”, commented David Rytter, AVTECHs CEO.

About Aventus
The Aventus Full-flight Winds service provides optimized weather uplinks for each stage of a flight, including the climb, enroute and descent phases. Aventus is a unique and patented system, enabling accurate wind information and 4D Trajectories for flights, making use of the very best in atmospheric modelling to create wind data packages for the different phases of a flight. Data packages are uplinked in real-time to the aircraft to enable the onboard Flight Management Computer (FMC) to accurately calculate a flight profile and the time when each route waypoint will be reached. The Aventus solution is environmentally friendly as it enables aircraft to fly more efficient altitudes and RNP approaches resulting in immediate airline fuel and CO2 savings benefits. The service is also imperative for future time-based flight operations, an area where Aventus provides even larger overall environmental and operational benefits. Time-based operations will increase the efficiency and punctuality of individual flights and of the air transport system.
