Climeon HeatPower Approved for Delivery to China for Second NACC Vessel
Climeon’s second HeatPower 300 system for NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC) has been approved for delivery to Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding Co. in China, following completion of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at Climeon’s headquarters in Sweden. The system will be installed on board NACC’s new methanol-powered cement carrier.
The FAT was conducted with representatives from NACC and classification society RINA in attendance. Following the approval of the first HeatPower 300 system in December 2025, this second milestone brings Climeon closer to completing deliveries to the two newbuild vessels.
The HeatPower 300 will generate electricity by converting low-temperature waste heat from the vessel’s engines into electricity for use onboard, contributing to improved energy efficiency, reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.
“This is another important step in fulfilling our commitments to NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers and progressing our deliveries to the maritime market,” said Lena Sundquist, CEO of Climeon. “We value the continued cooperation with NACC and Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding and look forward to seeing our technology installed on board both vessels.”
The second system was ordered in June 2025 for NACC’s new cement carrier, which will operate exclusively on green methanol and is expected to become the world’s largest cement carrier powered by renewable fuel. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
