Climeon will exhibit at Marintec China 2025, Asia’s leading maritime event, held 2–5 December 2025 in Shanghai, as interest in energy-efficient technologies continues to accelerate in the world’s largest shipbuilding market.
Recent HeatPower 300 orders for Chinese shipyards and a rising number of customer discussions reflect the increasing demand for ORC-based waste heat recovery solutions. Through its participation, Climeon will highlight its growing presence in the region and the concrete value in fuel and cost savings that HeatPower offers shipowners and shipyards—value now proven in marine operation, where an expanding number of HeatPower 300 Marine units are generating sustainable electricity on board.
Visitors can meet Climeon together with its partner Grandbow Technology Ltd in Hall N2, Stand N2D7B.
Growing Activity in the Chinese Market
Climeon’s participation at Marintec China follows several ongoing projects in the region, including systems for a newbuild container vessel at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and for two vessels being built for NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC) at Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding.
These projects reflect rising interest among Chinese shipbuilders and shipowners in ORC technology for waste-heat recovery, energy efficiency, and compliance with international decarbonization targets.
Comment from Climeon
“We’re looking forward to Marintec China. Interest in ORC-based waste-heat recovery has picked up noticeably, and we’re now working with more shipyards and owners in the region than ever before,” said Fredrik Thoren, EVP and Head of Marine Sales at Climeon. “The event is a rare chance to meet many yards, owners and partners in one place, and we welcome the opportunity to deepen our collaboration and open the door to new conversations.”
Turning Marine Waste Heat into Power
The HeatPower 300 Marine system converts low-temperature waste heat from engine cooling water or exhaust gases into sustainable electricity using the ORC process. By recovering energy that would otherwise be lost, ships can reduce fuel consumption and operating costs while lowering emissions. The system’s efficiency at low temperatures allows consistent energy recovery under varying operating conditions, independent of fuel type. This delivers measurable financial benefits and supports compliance with evolving international efficiency and emissions standards, such as the IMO’s EEXI and CII frameworks.
Built for the Demands of the Sea
Key features:
- Efficient at low temperatures: Generates power from 80–100 °C waste heat, providing more consistent output than systems that depend on higher-temperature steam.
- Seamless integration: A compact, divisible design with modular components mounted on a single skid for time- and cost-efficient newbuild and retrofit installations.
- Autonomous operation: Control system automatically adjusts to varying operating conditions to optimize efficiency and power production.
- Proven at sea: Operated under real marine conditions and trusted by leading shipping companies for reliability and performance.
