Copperstone Resources AB (publ) has on March 17, responded to the requests for supplementary information that the company received from the Land and Environment Court in February. The response refers to the application for an environmental permit for the reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. Copperstone has also submitted documents for “investigation consultation” to the County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen) and other related counterparts as a first step towards a possible dewatering permit (markavvattning).
On March 30, 2022, Copperstone submitted an application for an environmental permit to the Land and Environment Court at Umeå District Court to enable the reopening of the Viscaria mine in Kiruna. Subsequently, Copperstone has received supplemental requests from a number of referral bodies, to which the company responded on October 7, 2022. In February 2023, the company received additional requests for supplementary information from the Land and Environment Court, requests that the company responded to on March 17.
