CTS expands to Helsinki, with Lapin Kumi opening two new tire shops and 24/7 mobile service

Last year Lapin Kumi, Colmec, and several local tire shops came together to form a new tire services group, which currently goes under the working name CTS. Following on from a rapid expansion in Sweden and Northern Finland, the growth journey now continues in Southern Finland where Lapin Kumi, CTS’ Finland company, opens two new tire shops in the Helsinki region.
The two new Helsinki tire shops are located in the Vuosaari harbor and Espoo Juvanmalmi:
- In the Vuosaari harbor, Lapin Kumi has taken over the tire shop premises previously operated by Best Drive and conducted extensive renovation. The new tire shop a go to tire service stop in a transport intensive part of Helsinki.
- In Espoo Juvanmalmi, Bandaris, a well-established tire shop focused on heavy-duty vehicles in Juvanmalmi, has now joined the Lapin Kumi tire shop chain. Bandaris, has built a strong reputation for heavy vehicle service and adds an experienced team and important service point to the Lapin Kumi chain.
- Together, the two Helsinki tire shops now operates six mobile service vehicles, These services are coordinated by tire industry expert Kai Sallankivi, ensuring rapid response times and high-quality support for customers.
Lapin Kumi’s growth has been exceptionally fast, with the two news shops the company has more than doubled in size since 2017.
“During the winter, we also built a large new warehouse at our Vantaa location, so it has been a busy period" says Ville Roukanen, CEO of Lapin Kumi. “Our growth in Finland is driven by outstanding service provided by our 250 person strong team. Another key factor is our independence from specific tire brands. The needs of heavy-duty vehicle operators vary significantly depending on usage, and we can always find the best price-to-quality ratio from a range of tire brands. Plus, we have the tires readily available in stock. The third major factor behind our rapid growth is our company name. Especially in Southern Finland, the name 'Lapin Kumi' stands out, and the Lapland identity carries a strong, positive connotation."
