Ernströmgruppen´s Flow Technology acquires Koka OY

Flow Technology has signed an agreement to acquire 85% of the shares in Koka OY, which provides advanced measurement solutions and system integrations in the housing and water sectors. The company has an annual turnover of SEK 95 million and 24 employees.
Koka is based in Helsinki and is a leader in water metering in Finland. The company provides advanced measurement solutions and system integrations for water consumption that, together with user-friendly cloud services, simplify the monitoring and invoicing of water consumption. With a stable business model, long-term customer relationships and steady recurring purchases in sustainable solutions for energy efficiency, Koka fits in well with Flow Technology.
Investments in companies that enable reduced energy consumption are an important part of Ernströmgruppens’ commitment to sustainable business models. Not least because housing and premises account for a significant part of the Nordic region's energy use. With the help of Koka's mobile app, customers can take control of their water consumption in real time and can actively reduce and control their use. Energy efficiency of properties is a focus area for Flow Technology and an important contribution to Ernströmgruppens vision of a better tomorrow.
"Koka's expertise in measuring water consumption will be a valuable addition to the business area's existing range of products and system solutions. Solutions that today contribute to efficient energy use and optimized system performance through various forms of control, measurement and regulation of flows. The focus going forward is to combine resources and expertise to be able to further develop Koka's business as well as to jointly develop the business with other types of smart meters such as for example smoke detectors," says Fredrik Skarp, business area manager for Flow Technology at Ernströmgruppen.
