Fasadgruppen’s subsidiary SmartFront AB has signed a contract with Riksbyggen for an extensive exterior renovation with energy efficiency measures on tenant-owner association Storspoven in Umeå. The project comprises a design-build contract for one building as a trial with the intention to carry out the full project where all 8 buildings will be included.

The properties that belong to tenant-owner association Storspoven were built in 1968 and are in need of energy efficiency measures like many other older buildings. SmartFront’s assignment includes both façade and roof renovation. By opting for energy-saving measures, the association saw an opportunity to also improve its ventilation solution in connection with the renovation. The order value for the first phase amounts to roughly SEK 23 million. The work will be carried out on one building as a trial to identify unknown conditions before the full project can be executed.

As part of the project, a new surface layer will be installed where the bricks will be replaced by a plaster façade with mineral wool insulation. The roof will be renovated and new ventilation channels using the SmartFront method will be installed.
