Hexatronic's commitment to sustainability has reached an important milestone: our climate targets for 2030 have been validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The approval confirms that Hexatronic's Scope 1 and 2 targets are in line with the ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C, and that our Scope 3 target meets the SBTi requirements for reducing emissions in the value chain.
"We are proud to have reached this important milestone. Hexatronic wants to contribute to reducing emissions and identify and manage the risks associated with climate change. Through our work, we want to ensure that fiber optic infrastructure is part of the solution in a future, sustainable, and responsible communications environment," said Rikard Fröberg, CEO of Hexatronic.
Hexatronic's short-term sustainability goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in scope 1 and 2 by 42 percent in absolute terms by 2030, calculated from the base year 2022. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions in scope 3 relating to the value chain will be reduced in economic intensity by 51.6 percent during the same period.
