Energy industry leader and former Statkraft CEO Christian Rynning-Tønnesen joins Ingrid Capacity as Chairman of the Board
Ingrid Capacity announces the appointment of Christian Rynning-Tønnesen, former CEO of Europe’s leading renewable energy producer Statkraft, as Chairman of the Board, effective October 2026. With more than three decades in the energy sector, including 14 years as CEO of Statkraft, Rynning-Tønnesen brings deep industry expertise and experience. His appointment reflects Ingrid’s growth plans and ambition to become a European leader in flexibility.
The European energy system is undergoing a major transformation, dominantly driven by the rapid growth of demand and renewable energy. This is placing increasing pressure on the grid and creating a growing need for flexibility. Ingrid Capacity is addressing this challenge by combining large scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with advanced optimisation software, making the grid more intelligent. With more than three decades in the European energy sector, Rynning-Tønnesen brings valuable expertise and a deep understanding of the sector that will be vital to Ingrid’s next phase of growth. He holds several board positions in the energy sector.
