Tony James is professor of Chemistry at the University of Bath and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has received the Daiwa-Adrian Prize for developing scientific links with Japan, the CASE Prize for establishing scientific networks with China, the MSMLG Czarnik Award, the Frontiers in Chemistry Diversity Award and a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award. He is also listed by Clarivate as a Highly Cited Researcher in Chemistry.

Professor James is also the named inventor on 30 international patents and has delivered 266 invited lectures within the UK and internationally.
