We are excited to announce that the partnership between Lumito and Katana Labs has resulted in a customised analysis software solution tailored specifically for Lumito’s customers.

Lumito and Katana Labs are launching an innovative, cloud-based image analysis and visualisation software. The new solution is specifically optimised for Lumito’s unique Scizys tissue imaging technology, which combines traditional light microscopy images with high-resolution images to enable more sensitive, quantitative and precise analysis compared to traditional methods.

The first users to benefit from this intuitive and user-friendly image visualisation platform will be customers utilising Lumito’s scan-as-a-service. This service is primarily targeting low-volume users and researchers who want to try Scizys without the need to initially have a scanner on-site. The customer use Scizys labelling kit on their tissue samples and sends the samples to Lumito for scanning. The images, scanned by Lumito using Scizys, are then provided to the customer via the cloud platform for visualisation, assessment and downloading.

While Lumito’s high-definition tissue images are compatible with most available analysis software on the market, the customised solution from Katana Labs offers an advanced and intuitive interface to optimally assess both low abundance biomarkers, tissue morphology and cellular shape in the same view. Furthermore, the cloud-based platform allows users to easily share images and collaborate on their analysis directly from their web browser.

“I’m very pleased that we now provide our customers not only with a first-class product for immunohistochemical labelling and detection but also with a comprehensive software solution for image assessment that fully leverages the unique strengths of Scizys,” says Andreas Johansson, CTO at Lumito.
“The software service we are launching with Lumito highlights the advantages of our cloud platform to visualize, analyse, and share large histopathology images. Moreover, it aligns perfectly with our mission to support cancer research and diagnostics by providing intuitive interfaces for complex image analysis,” states Walter de Back, CTO at Katana Labs.
