Bergen, Norway, July 10, 2025 – M Vest Water (EURONEXT: MVW) today announces the sale of a NORWAPOL® retrofit to replace sand filtration at a large Norwegian oil terminal. This marks the second NORWAPOL® retrofit ordered by the client, under which another sand filter at the oil terminal will be converted into a NORWAPOL® unit for treating produced water.
A repeat order from the same client, following two years of successful operation with their first NORWAPOL® system, serves as a strong reference for both the technology and MVW.
The sale includes our patented polishing process NORWAPOL®, where NORWAFLOC® is added prior to the automatic backwash media filtration vessel. It also involves replacing the incumbent sand filtration with the innovative activated filter media AFM®, significantly enhancing filtration performance.
NORWAPOL® is a patented process technology developed by MVW. It uses NORWAFLOC®, MVW’s proprietary and environmentally friendly bio-flocculant, which is added to wastewater to enable the subsequent removal of pollutants in the NORWAPOL® filter.
“We are pleased that our client has chosen to implement our NORWAPOL® solution at a second water stream. The sale reflects the growing interest within the oil and gas industry for effective, yet environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions, that enable significant reductions in harmful discharges to nature. The sale also highlights the expanding footprint of our NORWAPOL® technology in the oil and gas sector. This is a valuable reference for MVW, as we are currently engaged in several qualification processes to expand the global adoption of NORWAPOL® over the summer”, says Executive Chairman, Mr. Tor Olav Gabrielsen.
