Marel would like to draw attention to a recent announcement from John Bean Technologies Corporation (“JBT”) related to JBT’s previously announced intention to make a voluntary takeover offer for all issued and outstanding shares in Marel.

Today, JBT has announced that it expects the Icelandic Supervisory Authority of the Central Bank of Iceland (“FSA”) to imminently approve the offer document and prospectus related to JBT‘s voluntary takeover offer. Following the FSA‘s approval, JBT will officially launch the voluntary takeover offer.

JBT and Marel will host a joint conference call for investors on Thursday 20 June 2024 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time (14.00 GMT/15.00 BST/16.00 CET) to discuss the compelling rationale of the transaction and benefits for customers and shareholders as well as provide further details on synergy opportunities.
