Amsterdam/Oslo – 6 May 2026 – MPC Energy Solutions (“MPCES”, “Company”) published its unaudited results for the first quarter of 2026 today.
Three solar PV plants were operational and contributed to the Company’s results over the past three months. The portfolio generated 23.3 GWh, a slight decrease to the same period last year (23.6 GWh).
A metering error related to its project in Mexico as well as poor weather conditions at MPCES’ project site in Colombia during the period led to revenues and operating profits ending up below expectations. Proportionate revenues and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were USD 2.5 million and USD 1.8 million, respectively, a decrease compared to Q1 2025 of 3% and 8%, respectively. The project EBITDA margin was 71% during Q1 2026 compared to 75% a year ago.
Meanwhile, MPCES continued to show excellent cost and spending discipline. Mainly driven by lower headcount compared to Q1 2025, overhead costs in the first quarter of 2026 were reduced by 31%.
The Company sold its development project La Perla (El Salvador) during Q1 2026, collection USD 0.1 million upfront and securing further upsides to recover historic development costs and participate in any development premium generated by the buyer in the future.
Following a cash injection of USD 1 million for its project in Guatemala to meet debt service payments and ongoing site expenses and bridge the time until COD, MPCES ended the quarter with a free cash position of USD 7.5 million. The Company collected an earn-out payment of USD 0.3 million related to a sale in Colombia on 1 April 2026, and the amount was consequently not reflected in the figure as of 31 March 2026.
The annual general meeting of the Company will be held on 27 May 2026. Information concerning the meeting and the prosed resolutions as well as instruction on how to cast votes can be found on the Company’s website.
