The network, originally deployed four years ago, has become the backbone for RPC’s 24/7 live content delivery, providing regional customization across the state. Curitiba in Brazil, serves as the central hub for production, where national programming and local content are created before being distributed to regional affiliates such as Londrina, Maringá, and Ponta Grossa. Each affiliate inserts local news and adapts the content to its audience, while transmitters and local units ensure statewide coverage – even in areas with limited terrestrial signal.

The expansion introduces additional contribution channels between the central hub and regional stations, as well as BTS distribution from studio sites to transmitter sites. By supporting BTS transport from the ISDB-T standard over IP with 1+1 redundancy, the project secures the end-to-end delivery of modulation parameters and service information, ensuring strict compliance with ISDB-T transmission requirements.

Leveraging Nimbra 400 with internet-based ARQ protocols enables RPC to reduce costs compared to traditional satellite or MPLS networks, while achieving resilient and reliable SFN (Single Frequency Network) BTS distribution. This approach represents an innovative use of BTS transport over internet connectivity.
