Brogrund Mark, a subsidiary to Netel, has received the trust of Örebro municipality in Sweden to also implement phase 1, section 9, of the new City line. The new bus system contributes to Örebro being able to continue to grow in a sustainable way.
To improve public travel, Örebro has chosen to develop BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) with the name City line. The City line has electric buses with high frequency, own lanes, centrally located stops and priority at traffic signals. For the passengers, this means that the buses run faster, more often and with greater punctuality. In this way, congestion and queues are reduced while air quality improves without the municipality having to build new roads.
Brogrund Mark has implemented phase 1, sections 7–8, which should be completed in December this year. Section 9 is to be completed in 2025 and includes, among other things, more stops, lighting and safe passages. These parts are coordinated with extensive work with water and sewage to secure the water supply to the residents.
“We are proud and happy about Örebro municipality's continued trust,” says Jeanette Reuterskiöld, CEO and CEO of Netel. “This is a well-executed project where we contribute to building a more sustainable system for infrastructure.”
