Effective immediately Newsec today announces the appointment of Morten Kampli as Head of Investment Management, a newly established Pan-Nordic and Baltic role aimed at accelerating growth and strengthening the scale, coordination, and impact of Newsecs investment management offering across all markets.
The appointment represents a strategic milestone in Newsecs ambition to build a fully integrated Nordic-Baltic investment management offering, designed to meet increasing investor demand for cross-border strategies, scalable structures, and long-term investments in the entire real estate industry value chain.
In his new role, Morten will have overall responsibility for driving growth, strengthening coordination, and scaling Newsecs investment management capabilities across the region. Working closely with local market leaders and specialist teams, he will focus on expanding the capacity, enhancing consistency across markets, and supporting institutional and professional investors with increasingly complex, multi-market investment strategies.
Morten brings extensive experience from senior roles within investment management and real assets, with a strong track record of working with institutional investors, funds, and asset owners across the Nordics and globally. He has broad experience spanning investment strategy, asset management, and value creation, and is recognized for his ability to build scalable investment structures that combine strategic clarity with strong local execution.
“Large investors are increasingly seeking partners that can combine scale, consistency, and strong local execution across the Nordic and Baltic region. By establishing a pan-Nordic and Baltic leadership role for Investment Management, we are taking a decisive step in scaling our presence and strengthening our value proposition to institutional clients. Mortens experience and leadership will be key in driving growth and further developing our investment management capabilities.” Max Barclay, co-CEO Newsec.
Morten brings extensive experience from senior roles in investment management and real estate, most recently at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) in Oslo, Norway, from 2015 to 2025. During this period, he held a series of senior leadership positions, including most recently the responsibility for the unlisted real estate area. Morten also has experiences from both McKinsey & Company, as well as several senior roles in the real estate industry.
“Newsec has a unique opportunity to further scale its investment management platform by leveraging its strong local presence, transaction capabilities, and deep expertise across real assets. My focus will be on building a more integrated and scalable offer that enables clients to invest efficiently across borders, while creating long-term value through high-quality asset management in real assets.” Morten Kampli, Head of Investment Management Newsec.
