Nightingale Health's disease risk detection becomes part of public primary healthcare in South Savo: registration for Eloisa's Wellbeing Gift opened today

Registration for the Wellbeing Gift is open to 45-, 50- and 55-year-olds, that is, people born in 1971, 1976 and 1981, who live in the Eloisa area or have chosen Eloisa as their primary healthcare provider.

One blood sample is taken from each participant, and from this sample Nightingale Health produces an individual estimate of the risk of developing five common chronic diseases: heart attack, ischemic stroke, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and fatty liver disease. Participants receive their results in a personal report in which the risks are compared with people of the same age. Participants identified at elevated risk are directed to a remote consultation with an Eloisa nurse and to digital lifestyle coaching, in which they are given a lifestyle app to use. Clinical follow-up is delivered within Eloisa's existing care pathways. After six months, participants take a second blood test and receive a new report showing how their disease risks have changed.

On June 16, 2025, Nightingale Health and the South Savo Wellbeing Services County announced that they had agreed to pilot Nightingale Health's blood analysis technology as part of the primary healthcare organised by the county. The Wellbeing Gift is the first practical phase of this collaboration. In it, Nightingale Health's test is offered for the first time in Finland as part of primary healthcare organised by a wellbeing services county. In the project, the operating model and its impact are evaluated before a possible broader rollout. The scientific evaluation is led by the University of Eastern Finland, and the project runs from March 2026 to April 2027.

"Preventive healthcare is built on three steps: disease risks are detected in the healthy population, support is targeted to those whose risk is high, and the impact is measured. In the Wellbeing Gift, all three steps take place in public primary healthcare, and after six months every participant can see from their own report how their risks have changed. When the same information is collected across the whole project, Eloisa gains measured data on how targeted lifestyle coaching affects disease risks and on where the resources for prevention are best directed," says Teemu Suna, CEO and Founder of Nightingale Health.

The Nightingale Health Check is already in nationwide use in occupational healthcare in Finland, and over 200,000 people have received their results. In the Wellbeing Gift, the same test is taken into use in primary healthcare organised by a wellbeing services county. Risk detection requires only a blood sample and the person's age and sex, so the test can be offered to a large number of people and repeated in the same way. Nightingale Health's technology is validated in over 1,000 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is approved for healthcare use in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Singapore.

The Wellbeing Gift is implemented by Eloisa together with its partner network. The project is funded by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund operating under the supervision of the Finnish Parliament, and by Eloisa. Nightingale Health is responsible for the blood-based disease risk detection, and the other partners are the University of Eastern Finland, ISLAB, Vertical, Onnikka and BitHabit.
