Impab Dundertech AB, which is part of Novedo Holding AB (publ), acquires Desrock AB, with annual sales of SEK 26 million and good profitability. The acquisition will give more customers in the Nordic region access to a stronger and broader product and service offering within water, geothermal and exploration drilling. The companies' combined sales for 2024 totalled approximately SEK 67 million. Closing is expected to take place on 30 June 2025.
Desrock, headquartered in Umeå, Sweden, was founded in 2010 and is today an established supplier of water, geothermal and exploration drilling tools in the Nordic region. By offering high-quality products and a high level of service, the business has grown steadily and achieved sales of SEK 26 million with good profitability for the financial year 2024. Of the revenue, 70 percent relates to exploration tools and 30 percent to products for water, geothermal and top hammer drilling.
Henrik Elned, CEO of Impab Dundertech, sees great strategic advantages in the acquisition of Desrock.
"For Impab Dundertech, the acquisition means that we are expanding our market, both geographically with a greater presence in northern Sweden, and through a broader product and service offering, as we are now stronger in exploration drilling. The acquisition will benefit customers who will now have access to an expanded and even more attractive portfolio of products and services," he says.
The owner of Desrock and seller is CEO Daniel Lång, who will continue at Impab Dundertech as head responsible for the company's Umeå branch and future ventures.
"‘I see a major advantage for our existing customers, who will gain access to a wider range of products and services, including geothermal and energy drilling and top hammer equipment. We will become a stronger organisation, enabling us to handle larger underground projects and mines in the Nordic region. By becoming part of a larger, nationwide organisation, we will also be able to further improve our service level,” he says.
Desrock is expected to be consolidated into the Novedo Group in July 2025 and merged with Impab Dundertech in September 2025.
"The acquisition is in line with Novedo's objective to grow through strategic and complementary acquisitions of existing subsidiaries. Together, the companies will be stronger with even better conditions for profitable growth", says Per-Johan Dahlgren, President & CEO of Novedo.
