The agreement replaces a previous three-year contract signed in 2023, which then amounted to approximately SEK 30 million. The new agreement thus entails a significant increase in both volume and value.

Obducat will manufacture the components using the company's proprietary NIL technology (Nanoimprint Lithography). The increased volumes are expected to contribute to increased efficiency and economies of scale in production, which in turn strengthens the business's profitability over time.

As part of the collaboration, Obducat will also take over parts of the Supply Chain Management from the customer for materials used in production.

The capacity of the current Foundry Service business is sufficient to meet the increased volumes initially. To support the continued scale-up following the agreement as well as to meet the generally increasing demand for contract manufacturing, the company is working to secure the conditions for carrying out the planned expansion of its Foundry operations in Portugal, with the support of the Portuguese authority IAPMEI. Through this expansion, Obducat contributes to accelerating the industrialization of NIL, while further economies of scale can be realized.
