Paxman has partnered with Capri Construction 426 LLC to secure this nationwide contract to deliver Paxman Scalp Cooling Systems to the VA's national healthcare network.
The National Oncology Program (NOP) is the home for cancer care at VA. Diagnosing and treating more than 56,000 Veterans annually, NOP is one of the nation's largest integrated providers of oncology services. 126 VA facilities are participating in NPOP, with 18,000 veterans cared for under the program.
This single-award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract awarded to Capri Construction 426 LLC with Paxman as the sole subcontractor, is projected to be worth $2.7 million over the contract period (which has a base year and four option years spanning July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2029) based on quantity estimates provided by the VA, equating to more than 100 Paxman Scalp Cooling Systems and nearly 1,800 scalp cooling kits throughout the 5-year contract period. Capri and Paxman were successful in this contract award against two other qualified offers.
The VA will acquire cooling systems on an as-needed basis when requested at VA facilities. The Paxman Scalp Cooling equipment fulfilled all requirements of an FDA-cleared machine-based system which will be installed in VA infusion clinics to support all eligible Veterans using VA clinics nationwide.
Paxman is proud to partner with Capri Construction 426 LLC dba Capri Enterprises, a New York-based, nationally certified Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides procurement and consulting services to the VA to help improve patient experiences and outcomes.
John Blowers, Program Manager, for Capri, commented, “Capri is excited to be able to partner with Paxman to deliver scalp cooling systems to the VA's national healthcare network and provide compassionate care to the heroes these dedicated professionals serve.”
Richard Paxman, CEO said, “This contract, in partnership with Capri, is the first step for Paxman to support the VA and its patients together in managing the important side-effect of chemotherapy-induced alopecia for Veterans with cancer across the United States. The cancer team at the VA utilize the most up-to-date and cutting-edge technology and Paxman is honored to have been chosen as their nationwide scalp cooling provider. We wholeheartedly share their ethos of excellence and our commitment to patient-centered personalized cancer care is at the heart of all we do. Scalp cooling intervention can help to minimize the emotional toll and long-term impact on patients that is associated with chemotherapy-induced hair loss and know that this will have a huge impact on Veterans, while further reinforcing scalp cooling as a signifier of high-quality cancer care.”
