PowerCell has today published its 2025 Sustainability Report, prepared voluntarily in accordance with the GRI Standards. The report covers industrial certifications, Scope 1–3 emissions performance, an independent RISE marine life cycle assessment, and people and governance disclosures, and is available at www.powercellgroup.com.
The report sets out how hydrogen-electric fuel cell solutions address two parallel challenges: reducing greenhouse gas emissions while eliminating local exhaust emissions at the point of use — a growing concern in many societies. The report also highlights hydrogen's role in energy resilience, enabling longer-duration storage of renewable electricity and reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels in regions building out domestic clean energy capacity.
Highlights include Type Approval of Marine System 225 by Lloyd's Register, AS9100D aerospace quality certification completed in 2025, and delivery precision of 98 percent against a 95 percent target.
A life cycle assessment by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden of a 10 MW fuel cell system based on Marine System 225 modules run on green hydrogen indicates around 80 percent lower lifecycle climate impact per delivered kWh than marine gas oil. Results are scenario-based.
"Moving beyond fossil fuels is about more than carbon; it is fundamental to the resilience and competitiveness of our societies. In an era of geopolitical uncertainty, our technology provides the decentralized solutions needed for energy security and pollution-free power. PowerCell's impact is defined by how our customers deploy this technology at scale to balance volatile green energy sources and secure a stable, sustainable future," says Richard Berkling, CEO of PowerCell Group.
"Our 2025 Sustainability Report reflects a simple observation: the customers choosing hydrogen-electric today are not buying a climate story. They're buying uptime, range, noise performance, certification, and a supplier that will still be standing behind the product in fifteen years. The sustainability case and the industrial case have to be the same case — and increasingly, they are. That alignment is what makes this transition durable," says Victor Åkerlund, Chief Analytics & Sustainability Officer of PowerCell Group.
