New, strong data for Prostatype® presented at a scientific congress
New data for Prostatype® have been presented at the Swedish Urological Association's annual meeting in Växjö today. The data is particularly interesting, as the follow-up times are very long; on average around 20 years. The performance of the product once again shows a strong added value in relation to the internationally leading benchmark NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network®). NCCN is the most relevant comparison for the US market, but also for large parts of the rest of the world.
Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden, in collaboration with Prostatype Genomics, has conducted a study involving 137 patients. The study is of particular interest since the average follow-up time is approximately 20 years from the initial diagnosis.
None of the patients classified as low-risk by Prostatype® died of prostate cancer during the follow-up period. Furthermore, Prostatype® was significantly better than the NCCN benchmark at predicting which patients would or would not die from their cancer.
NCCN is an established clinical risk stratification system already used by urologists. In general, the NCCN guidelines are considered the gold standard in the USA and in large parts of the rest of the world.

The study results have already been submitted for review and publication in a scientific journal.
