10 March 2026 – ReFuels N.V., a leading European supplier of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) for the decarbonisation of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), today published Bio-CNG station data for February 2026.
- CNG Fuels dispensed a total of 5,225 tonnes of Bio-CNG from 16 public access refuelling stations, up 12% from 4,660 tonnes in February 2025 (15 stations)
- Average daily dispensed volume reached a record 187 tonnes, compared to 166 tonnes per day in the year-earlier period
- A daily average of 2,239 vehicles refuelled across the station network, an increase of 14% year-on-year
- Prices for Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) averaged 25.7 pence, equal to February 2025
“The CNG Fuels station network delivered solid utilisation as Bio-CNG trucks continue to gain market share in a soft overall haulage market. Fleet operators are increasingly recognising that they can both decarbonise operations today and increase returns over the life of a vehicle due to the rapid payback offered by new state-of-the-art biomethane trucks compared to HVO fuel and diesel HGVs. We expect new truck deliveries to accelerate towards the summer after the typical seasonal slow start to the year,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.
In addition to Bio-CNG dispensing, CNG Fuels generates revenue from sales of Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs). The average RTFC price in February was 25.7 pence, equal to the price in February 2025. RTFCs are awarded at a rate of 3.8 certificates per kilo of Bio-CNG dispensed and sold to fuel suppliers with a blending obligation under the UK's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) scheme.
CNG Fuels supplies biomethane through a growing network of refuelling stations, currently operating 16 public access Bio-CNG stations strategically located on major UK trucking routes. One additional station in Magor, South Wales, is under construction to further expand network capacity.
ReFuels provides monthly operational updates, normally released within ten working days after the end of each month.
