More than half of all business owners say that applying for financing with their bank is difficult. With “Företagsbanken” – a bank that’s not overly expensive or unnecessarily complex – Resurs aims to simplify business financing.

Finding the right financing solution as a business owner is rarely straightforward. Processes are often complex, flexibility is limited, and costs can be high.

Market developments clearly show a growing need for complementary alternatives to traditional banks, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. That’s why Resurs is now launching “Företagsbanken – a part of Resurs”.

– We meet many companies that want to invest in their business and finance their operations but struggle to find the right solution. While the range of financing options has increased in recent years, that doesn’t necessarily mean better alternatives. In many cases, the offerings are not attractive enough, flexibility is limited, or processes are unnecessarily complex, says Magnus Fredin, CEO of Resurs.

– Companies are looking for a partner who understands their business – not just the numbers – and who can act quickly when the need arises, he adds.

Six out of ten find it difficult to apply for financing
Many Swedish companies feel that the corporate financing available today is not adapted to their day-to-day reality and actual needs. Six out of ten say it is difficult to apply for financing with their current bank. Nearly as many are calling for greater flexibility and more personal contact. This is shown in a new survey of small and medium-sized enterprises conducted by Resurs*.

– Companies often find themselves choosing between financing that is unnecessarily complicated or unnecessarily expensive. With ”Företagsbanken”, we want to change that. We have developed new products based on business owner’s needs, and we will continue to do so as the offering expands, says Fredrik Sandberg, Chief SME Banking Officer at Resurs and responsible for Företagsbanken.

Built on the reality of doing business
“Företagsbanken” offers a range of services, including business loans, flexible corporate credit, inventory financing, invoice financing and savings solutions. Everything is developed in close collaboration with businesses. Insights from real companies are used to improve the solutions, with the goal of making them work where they actually are used – in everyday operations, in real companies.

Carla, the online electric and hybrid car retailer, uses Resurs’ inventory financing solution:

– For us, inventory financing was about being able to scale without it becoming a barrier along the way. The collaboration with Resurs was smooth, flexible, and quick to get up and running. It gave us the opportunity to shift up a gear and continue growing our business at a high pace, says Patrik Illerstig, CEO and co-founder of Carla.

* About the survey:
The survey was conducted by Norstat in spring 2026 on behalf of Resurs Bank and targeted decision-makers at small and medium-sized enterprises in Sweden. The target group included established SMEs with up to 249 employees.
