SSH Communications Security Corporation | Press Release | July 02, 2024 at 10:30:00 EEST

SSH Communications Security announces that its quantum-safe NQX data encryption solution version 2.2.9 has received national certification for security level TL III (confidential information). The three-year certification has been granted by the NCSA function of Traficom, the official approver of cryptographic products in Finland.

NQX meets the needs of national security authorities and other organizations as they move vast amounts of data between data centers, industrial environments, branch offices and networks in a quantum-safe manner. Unlike many competing products, NQX can support high data rates even when quantum-safe connections are established.

Its crypto-agility makes it easy to upgrade to the latest quantum-safe and classical algorithms alike, as it supports them in parallel. Thanks to its scalability, NQX allows large-scale connections between multiple networks or factories to be established and managed centrally. The product's in-house key management and certificate-based authentication ensure that all the critical elements of encryption remain in the possession of the organization.

"The threat posed by quantum computers must be prepared for now. In the US, quantum security is already a law, in the EU and Asia authorities have published their own recommendations on the subject, and now in Finland Traficom is calling for a shift to quantum-safe encryption algorithms," says interim CEO Rami Raulas.

"We have led the development of quantum-safe software and operations in the award-winning PQC Finland project four years ago. We are part of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Post-Quantum Cryptography Building Block Consortium, which is developing quantum-safe solutions in the US and elsewhere. Our operations are verified to be compliant with the Enterprise Security Certificate, and we are an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified company. Earning the TL III security classification is a significant addition to our capabilities, as our mission is to be ‘the defense force of national security’," Raulas continues.
