Sveafastigheter continues to strengthen its presence in the Stockholm area through the construction of 216 apartments. After completion, Sveafastigheter will own and manage over 3,900 rental properties in the Stockholm-Mälardalen region.
Sveafastigheter, one of Sweden’s largest pure-play residential companies, manages and develops long-term a wide range of attractive rental properties in growth regions in Sweden. Today, the construction for a new residential project in Kista started.
- We are happy to add sustainable housing in the attractive development area Kista Äng. This construction start expands our housing stock in the Stockholm area, where the demand for housing is high, which is in line with our strategy to focus our new construction on Stockholm-Mälardalen in the future, says Erik Hävermark, CEO, Sveafastigheter.
The project is part of the new residential area that is emerging in Kista Äng - a development area that, when fully developed, will include around 1,600 new apartments as well as premises for a living district. Sveafastigheter's project includes 216 apartments in smaller and larger sizes for people in different stages of life. The building will be developed in accordance with Miljöbyggnad Silver.
- Kista is important for Stockholm. The fact that the new district Kista äng is now growing to be an even more attractive, lively and safe place is another step in the right direction when it comes to improving the city's housing supply. This start of construction shows that both the industry and the city, despite the current recession, believe in Kista and Kista's future, says Karin Wanngård, Mayor of Stockholm.
The ground floors of Sveafastigheter's project will contain premises that contribute to a vibrant environment. The residential courtyard will be lush and green with verdant rest areas for residents and playgrounds for children of different ages.
The first move-in to Sveafastigheter's apartments is expected to take place in 2026. After completion of the project, the apartments are expected to generate an annual rental value of SEK 35 million.
