Sveafastigheter continues to strengthen its presence in the Stockholm area through the construction of 147 rental apartments in Orminge, Nacka. It is the third construction start for Sveafastigheter this autumn.
Sveafastigheter, one of Sweden’s largest pure-play residential companies, manages and develops long-term a wide range of attractive rental properties in growth regions in Sweden.
Today starts the construction for a new residential project in Nacka, which will be a further step in the company's focus on realizing the development portfolio with a concentration in the Stockholm area. The residential project strengthens Sveafastigheter's presence in the Stockholm-Mälardalen region, which accounted for just over 33 percent of the portfolio in terms of property value as of June 30, 2024.
- I am pleased that Sveafastigheter is starting construction of new apartments for the third time this autumn. There is a structural shortage of housing in Sweden, not least in the Stockholm area, and with our strong development portfolio we can contribute to reducing this shortage. Nacka is an attractive municipality to live in and with this start of construction we are strengthening our presence there, says Erik Hävermark, CEO of Sveafastigheter.
The property is being built centrally in Orminge, which is an area under development to make room for nearly 2,000 homes as well as facilities and places for recreation.
- This is an important construction start for Orminge's continued development, where we add both housing and facilities for a lively neighbourhood. It feels safe that Sveafastigheter is the developer as we have collaborated for a long time and they have a long-term commitment, says Mats Gerdau, Chairman of the Municipal Board, Nacka.
The project is built to meet the requirements for Miljöbyggnad Silver. It includes 117 rental apartments and 30 senior housing for people aged 65+. On the roof there will be solar panels and a common roof terrace for the tenants. The ground floors will have a space that contributes to a living urban environment.
The first move-ins are expected to take place in 2026. After the project is completed, the apartments are expected to generate an annual rental value of SEK 24 million.
